About CSHRM

The California Society for Healthcare Risk Management (CSHRM) was founded in 1981 as a state affiliate of ASHRM, the national association for Healthcare Risk Management. CSHRM was created to provide its members a local resource for healthcare risk management education needs while being a conduit for member interaction to promote safer, proactive healthcare risk management.

CSHRM is a non-profit organization with a Board of Director structure. The Board manages the day-to-day work product and fiduciary responsibility of the organization. The Board seeks to provide members with the most up-to-date information in healthcare as it relates to patient safety and risk management.

Bylaws, strategic planning, and creation/revision of policies and procedures are all functions managed by the Board of Directors. The Board also has a responsibility to manage sponsorship for the annual conference, and manage chapter performance.

The Board seeks to improve upon existing technology to ensure the most innovative, but cost-effective tools are used for member education and networking needs. Webinars, electronic mailings, and website tools are all used for interaction with members.

CSHRM hosts an annual conference that is filled with learning opportunities for members. This educational powerhouse is at the forefront of CSHRM’s work throughout the year.

The Board is made up of:

  • President
  • President-Elect
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Committee Chair positions
